In this blog, we will describe how to create multi-site indexing monitoring systems for using the URL Inspection API and Analytical Edge in-depth step by step.
Step 1. Install the Analytics Edge core add-in.
The first step is to set up a multi-site indexing monitoring system. You need to download the Analytics Edge core add-in. Once you download the core add-in, after that you should download the google search console connector, they both are free for several days and after that its $99 per year for the core add-in and $50 per year for the GSC connector.
Step 2. Connect Google Account
After installing the software it’s time to connect to the google account that gives you access to the GSC to monitor your properties.
Now in excel, firstly click the Analytics Edge that is a mansion in the top of the menu. Next click googles search. Then accounts in the dropdown menu. Go through the process of connecting google accounts and authorized access. It takes hardly a few minutes.
Step 3. Create Worksheet
After connecting the google account, Create a worksheet to top URLs from the website that you want to monitor with the limits of 2000 URLs on your worksheet. Make sure the column has a header. You can give the name of the worksheet based on the site name.
Step 4. Create First Macro
After listing the URLs, the Next step is to create the first macro to check the URL inspection API. You can use tons of functionality provided by Analytics Edge when you are crafting macros.
Step 5. Combine an Instruction Series
After creating a macro in Analytics Edge, combine an instruction series that will run together. Firstly, we read a list of URLs from our worksheet then check those URLs, using the URLs inspection API and for analyzing data write the result on a new worksheet.
Step 6. Create New Worksheet
After completing the 5th step, go to the Analytics Edge menu then click the File menu, and Read Worksheet. This will pull the complete URLs list you have in that worksheet. In the dialog box, the workbook will be the current workbook, and the worksheet should be the current worksheet, you do not need any changes. Just click ‘OK’ to read the worksheet.
Step 7. Create Temporary Worksheet By Analytics Edge
Analytics Edge creates a temporary worksheet named “Step Results”. You will proceed with the URL inspection API for containing the list of URLs.
Go to the Analytics Edge menu, then click Google Search, and then do URL Inspection. Then in the dialog box, select the Account that you set up earlier and then set GSC property that you want to work with. By adding the column name to the URL file, you just tell Analytics Edge where all the URLs are in the worksheet. Then add the column name, if you use ‘page’ add in the file then click ‘OK’.
Step 8. URLs Inspection API
In the next step, process all the requests for the URL inspection API. It takes a long time. Once it is done, the worksheet automatically generates a sample of the result that is highlighted in green. Then put the result to a new sheet where you analyze the data and work on it.
Step9. Write to Worksheet
For monitoring the result list of URLs you create a new worksheet with the help of ‘write to worksheet’, go to the Analytics menu then click the file menu and then ‘Write to worksheet’, its give you a new worksheet a name like set 1 results then click ‘OK’.
Step 10. Check GSC Properties
Check multiple GSC properties across different websites to create another macro to do that and run together. You can create a new worksheet with URLs from the second site. Add the top URLs from the second site you want to monitor.
Step 11. Create a New URL list
After that create a new macro that will work with the second URL list. The first one is already set up In the Task Pan for analytics Edge, you will see your. Then click the dropbox and select the ‘new macro’. Give the name whatever you want then click ‘Ok’.
Step 12. Create Again Worksheet Following the Previous Steps
In the next step, go through the same process that was previously done. When you do the final process you will have two macros that process URLs from different sites of the worksheet. And each macros write the result in a fresh and final worksheet to analyze and work with the data.
Step 13. Monitor URL Regularly
Now you have created two macros so you can run both of them at one time. Now, click the Analytics Edge menu and click the ‘Refresh All’ button. Save each spreadsheet with a new name so you can monitor your results from time to time.
